Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins (born in Mexico) is a Mexican American journalist. She currently works as working as a sportscaster at ESPN, working as anchor for SportsCenter news and hosting SportsNation. She was hired by ESPN as a news anchor in the year 2016. Her mother is Maria Antonieta Collins, a journalist on television. Antonietta has been bilingual since the age of nine. Her skills were instrumental in helping her get her first job as a an assistant to the production team at Univision Miami, where she was a producer of numerous shows, including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. After this, she was hired by the CBS station in St. Petersburg employed her as a reporter for sports. In 2009, she moved to Rio Grande Valley to work as a reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. The stories she wrote about covered immigration drugs, immigration, as well as various other topics on the Texas and Mexico border. Additionally, she worked as an anchor and Spanish reporter for the newscast from 5 p.m. and anchor and reporter on the newscast at 9 p.m. on English and an anchor and reporter for the newscast of 9 p.m. in English, as well Spanish reporter from 10 p.m. She also filled in for anchors of sports and weather forecasters. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallas' affiliate, where she takes on more responsibility. Antonietta's parents come from Veracruz Mexico. She was born November 22, 1985, in Mexico City. There is also an older sibling. In 1992, the family left Mexico to the US and settled in Miami. The couple divorced within a short time and in the year 1995, she got married to a naval designer named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away in 2006 from kidney cancer. It was during a time of summer when she was with her younger sister in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had gotten an employment. Antonietta was the senior of her high school and had a clear idea of her goals for the future. She went to Mount Union University in order to find out if the school was suitable for her. It was an amazing campus. It also gave her the degree she wanted. After graduation, she attended the university with an undergraduate major in media studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also the WRMU's 91.1FM station where she worked over the years, became a friend. Professor Bergmann was a great influence on her by his love of journalism. Additionally, he profoundly influenced her.
